The villa is perfect for 2 couples, with identical layouts on both sides. Everything is very spatial, with a nice sitting area, and a well stocked kitchen with new appliances.
The best part is sitting outside enjoying the view and sunsets over the Mediterranean Sea, while sipping wine, dipping in the pool to cool off or just relax after a long day of hiking or visiting local ruins, wineries, and mountain villages.
Our host Ramonita was excellent providing us with great ideas on local or nearby restaurants, and tips on what to do and what to avoid.
We are hoping to come back some day for a longer stay.

My love for Crete began in 1999

I first came to Matala in 1999 for a week’s holiday – and returned every year. As I discovered more of the island, it was always South Crete that drew me back: the mountains, olive groves, beautiful gorges and quiet beaches made me feel free and close to nature.

In 2015, after a shoulder injury ended my work as a physiotherapist, I found a piece of land in Pitsidia with views of the mountains and sea. It became the place to start a new chapter and bring a long-held dream to life. Today, I’m happy to share this special place with my guests at Villas Ramonita.
